We are here for our last 10 days of the trip. Nice, big place with a side yard and a pool, but no AC except in the bedrooms. I'm hoping we'll be able to stay cool enough.  The coqui frogs here are making an outrageous amount of evening noise, but it's is so cool. Nice to fall asleep to. Rincon is a really neat area.  It has a southern California-feel without the crowds. 

West cost of Puerto Rico

Today we are touring around on the west coast of Puerto Rico. We are stopped at a little restaurant on the ocean eating fish empanadillas, tostones (fried plantains), and other yummy stuff. I'm going to post a photo of the gigantic tarpin that are hanging out waiting for a hand out.

Today we went to the largest radio telescope in the world.  We also went driving in the mountainous interior of Puerto Rico which was beautiful. Great experience.

In Vieques

Ok. I am still figuring out how to use this blogging app, so I'm now writing the narrative that goes with the last pictures.

We are now in Vieques, which is a small island off of puerto Rico. We have been to San Juan and Fajardo, then we took a ferry to Vieques. We are staying in a guesthouse on the south side of Vieques (island is only about 5 miles across), in a little town called Esperanza. We are staying

Today we went to the only rainforest in the us. We swam in a waterfall and in freshwater pools with little fish. The temperature is perfect. That boys are playing soccer on the beach now.

On the first day at the hotel, I liked when we went to the Fort because I liked exploring the cool things.

The first day at the hotel we checked out the old old forts that Christopher colombus built and used. The fort had a kithchen a  dongeon, everything a midevil castle might need.After that we went to the Greengos caribean food resteraunt for dinner.

Lots of fun today running around the San Cristobal fort. We're definitely noticing the humidity but the temperature is beautiful. The scenery is definitely beautiful. We arrived at 2 o'clock this morning and stayed in an hotel airport. Just now got to Old San Juan. Checking into a hotel here.
